About Urban Floating

Part of our Stairs & Finishing collection, it is genuine engineered oak — a real oak wear layer over a stable core, built to hold its shape over underfloor heating and through changing seasons. The matt lacquer gives a hard-wearing, low-maintenance surface that shrugs off daily family life while keeping the look of raw, unfinished oak.

Where this floor works

It carries the look of the floor up and over the staircase, so treads, risers and nosings read as part of the same considered interior. every board is supplied and fitted by our own Cambridge team, or supplied on its own for your fitter.

Caring for your floor

Day to day it asks for very little: sweep or vacuum the grit that actually wears a floor, wipe spills promptly, and clean with a barely-damp microfibre and a wood-floor cleaner rather than a soaking mop.

Yes. Urban Floating is engineered oak, which is designed to cope with the gentle expansion and contraction of underfloor heating far better than solid wood, provided it is fitted with the correct adhesive and properly acclimatised first.
