Home / Staircase Cladding in Cambridge
We clad existing staircases in solid oak — treads, risers, nosings and winders — to match your new floor and turn a tired staircase into a centrepiece.
A clad staircase is templated and made to your exact flight. We measure each tread, riser, nosing and winder, machine the oak to suit, and finish it to match your floor so the two read as one continuous surface. Existing balustrades and handrails can be kept or refinished, and the work is carried out cleanly with minimal disruption to the rest of the home.
We work to order, never subcontract, and stand behind the result with a workmanship guarantee. Visit our showroom at 3 The Broadway, Mill Road, Cambridge, CB1 3AH to see and walk on samples.

A staircase is the one piece of joinery everyone touches. Cladding it in oak to match your floor turns a builder-grade or tired staircase into part of the interior — without rebuilding it.
We clad the existing structure in engineered oak treads, risers and nosings, finished to match your floor, with the skirting, beading and thresholds that make the whole job look considered. It is one of the highest-impact details in a house and far less disruptive than replacing a staircase.
Stair cladding works best when it carries the exact tone of the floor below, so we finish the stair oak to match — and for unusual colours our bespoke service can match by hand. See the full range of treads, nosings and trims in our stairs & finishing collection.
